About
APRE – Agency for the Promotion of European Research is a non-profit research organization based in Rome, Italy. Established in 1989, APRE supports the Italian research and innovation community in accessing and participating in European R&I programmes. The agency acts as a bridge
between researchers, industry, policymakers, and European institutions, fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange. APRE provides training, policy advice, and project management support across multiple sectors, with a strong focus on Horizon Europe.
Role in the project
APRE plays a central role in MARMADE by leading the project’s multi-actor approach and stakeholder engagement strategy. APRE is responsible for developing the engagement methodology, mapping key actors across the marine biomass value chains, and coordinating co-creation workshops to involve stakeholders in testing and validating food and feed innovations. Moreover, APRE drives synergies with other CBE JU and Horizon Europe projects and leads the development of policy recommendations to foster the scalability and replicability of circular bio-based models in Europe.
